Local and NHS services

The surgery works in partnership with local and NHS service providers and groups.

Out of Hours and Emergencies

111 is the NHS non-emergency number. It’s fast, easy and free. Call 111 and speak to a highly trained adviser, supported by healthcare professionals. They will ask you a series of questions to assess your symptoms and immediately direct you to the best medical care for you.

NHS 111 is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Calls are free from landlines and mobile phones.

In case of a life-threatening emergency, please dial 999.

You should call 111 when:
– you think you need to go to A&E or to another NHS urgent care service
– your GP surgery is closed and you need healthcare advice
– you don’t know who to call for medical help
Call 999 for life threatening emergencies such as:
– Major accident or trauma
– Severe breathlessness
– Severe bleeding
– Loss of consciousness
– Severe chest pain
The South Tees Access and Response (STAR) scheme has been set up by GPs to improve access to their services outside the current core hours for patients needing urgent care or advice.

Patients can now see or speak to a GP urgently on weekdays (6.30 – 9.30pm), weekends and Bank Holidays (8am – 8pm).

Patients wanting to see a GP can access the service by ringing NHS 111 – the urgent care helpline. A GP will then call you back to offer advice or an appointment at the surgery.

It is now possible for patients to book appointments directly at one of the hubs within the area.

This service is only available for patients who have a registered GP within the South Tees area.

To book an appointment directly please visit http://www.starappointment.co.uk/booking/.
  • Out-of-hours services are provided when the surgery is closed. During normal surgery opening hours, the practice remains your first point of contact for all routine requests.
